Cosmetics for fishbelly-white people?
I’m pale. I mean, I’m really pale. I do tan a very little bit in the summer, but nobody else can tell. (Case in point: me in August.) I check out face powders in shades with names like “Glaringly White” and I think, “Sure, that might be the right color for me if I baked in the sun for six months”.
Fortunately for me, my complexion is usually pretty even. And I am a big ol’ hippy, so the natural look works for me most of the time. A little sunscreen and I’m good to go. But sometimes I have call to wonder: where do really pale people find powder that isn’t three shades darker than what they need?

You look totally normal to me. This is because I’m Norwegian, I think. The school nurse used to send me home every time she saw me: “Oh, honey, you look so pale! Lie down, I’ll call your mother.”
I don’t wear powder, so I’m no help at all.

You’re an English rose, is what. If I had your complexion, I would never put anything on it.

I’ve heard good things about Aromaleigh. Mineral based cosmetics, that you can mix to acheive the right tone.

stila makes a nice powder that’s completely white. just don’t over do, or you look funny. (i think the shade is called fair, but don’t quote me on that.) if you’re looking for a foundation, you buy one that’s close then you come over here and have me blend it for you so it matches.

I’ve used talcum or cornstarch before and done OK, just a tiny bit sort of blotted on.

I just sent Joy some translucent powder that is supposed to work on all ethnic skin types but just looks like fine talcum powder on my Asian skin.

I thought it might blend better on her skin. But yeah, you’ve got the best skin of anyone I know! Why do you want to put anything on it? It’s already perfect!

Heh. It’s not always perfect! I can get pretty blotchy.
It just seems like the sort of thing I oughta know. It came up as Joy — who has a similar skin type — was talking about the tribulations of finding makeup that matches pink-white skin like ours.
Sometimes I think it’d be nice to dress up outrageously, and makeup is part of that.
One thing about being one of the melanin-deficient: when we’ve got a flu, we can really look like hell. (”Wow, I didn’t know people could get that color.”) When I’m feeling lousy and I have to go out, I get out the makeup kit so I don’t scare small children with my death-warmed-over look.
