Kimchul Kim

Got this in the mail from Jack Straw Productions a while ago, and it looks interesting to me. I might go to the artist talk tomorrow.

Kichul Kim: Rapport
May 12 – June 30 2006
Artist talk: Wednesday May 24, 7 pm

Kichul Kim follows an artistic path in the pursuit of this basic idea: If I see the sound, I can reach Nirvana. He has explored this concept for more than 10 years. Rapport is an interactive sound sculpture, and Kim’s first US exhibition.

That does look interesting. And it’s like, right around the corner from me.

I torqued my knee a bit and didn’t go, choosing instead to let the knee heal up. Boo.

The sculpture was kind of neat (though it freaked out the dog.)
The talk was interesting, but a little awkward, because his English is not very good, and there were some concepts he had a hard time getting across.

I’d wondered what happened to you.

    Hope the knee’s better?

Yep, thanks, it’s good now. Knees are just so tetchy.

This is Kichul. I found your blog
    on google searching.
I’m sorry for my English. That was terrible. If you have any question for my concepts please let me know. Thank you for coming that night.
