Vince Gallapaga 1964-2007
I miss Vince. I don’t know what to say. It seems all wrong. I feel sad and confused.
I didn’t know him closely, but I always loved talking with him at Pies and Pints or the farmers’ markets. Being around Vince made me happy; he was infectious that way. Even when things at the restaurant had gotten crazy or exhausting, there always seemed to be a song in his heart. He was generous and funny and creative and warm, with a huge laugh. I often thought, “This is a man who knows how to live.” He loved his life, he loved his work, and he loved the people around him. All that love and enthusiasm made him seem a little bigger than life to me.
He was one of a kind, and I’ll miss him. I do already.

Wow. Obviously, I didn’t know him, but he sounded like a great guy. And from reading the guestbook it sounds like he made an impression on a lot of people.

What a shame. I didn’t know him either, but I did go to PnP a few times and really liked the place. Do you know what happened? The obit doesn’t say.

I miss you Vince. You really were larger than life the way you loved your people, places and things.

Hello,
I was an old friend of Vince Gallapaga’s when he used to bartend in Chico, CA. I cannot find anyone who knows what happened to Vince and why he died at such at young age. I am heartbroken for him and his family.
Please if anyone knows about Vince and what happened please email me if possible.
